From paradise to a clubbing essential, Thaddeus has been a fundamental player since 1995. His vocal, funky house music keeps clubbers at Manchester’s Essential, Morning Glory (Queer) and Queer Bar grooving till the early hours. Long may he play.

August Bank holiday and Manchester Pride kind of marks the end of summer for me - and it’s been quite a summer; not for the weather but thank goodness for some wicked tunes out this year!
I thought it would be a good time to have a bit of a look back at what has made me all tingly inside and made the dancefloors rock. One of the biggest tracks this summer has undoubtedly been yet another Eric Prydz production ‘Pjanoo’. When I first heard this track I knew it would be big (I think everyone knew that) and it became a staple tune in my sets. Now, I love vocals and they do feature heavily in my sets I thought, you know what, a vocal would bring this to another level. I played around with various acapella samples in my sets, particularly Circuit’s ‘Shelter Me’ which worked a treat and then I got a copy of ‘Pjanoo Fusion’. This mix has not just brought the track to another level, it’s blown the roof right off.
For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s the vocal from the Hoxton Whores anthem ‘Fusion’. When I think of ‘hands in the air’ I think of this mix and my gosh does it make me tingle! But I am so glad the official release didn’t include a vocal version. I think it would have ruined it for me. There have been some good vocals added to commercial releases of House tracks and some awful ones! I’ve loved Lee Cabrera’s ‘No Te Muevas Tanto (Shake It)’ and Layo & Bushwacka vs Kings Of Tomorrow’s ‘Love Story Vs Finally’ but as for Armand Van Helden’s ‘My My My’ or Shapeshifters ‘Lola’s Theme’. Grrr! Now I know that this is all subjective and some of you will be going “what! AS IF!” but if you’ve got an opinion, let me know!
